Dubuque author and illustrator Lindsey Chapman has published her second children’s book, “Clark & Cleo.”

It features a giraffe that has trouble making friends at school because she’s self-conscious about how she looks. She learns not to dwell on her physical features, and instead, to focus on being kind to others and to herself.

Her first book, “Clark & Clover,” featured a chameleon with anxiety. It aimed to give children the tools and vocabulary to cope with their emotions.

A full-time children’s book author and illustrator, Chapman has visited schools to teach kids about brain health, encouraging them to have a positive relationship with their emotions.
